Last week, Lander & Rogers teamed up with First State Super to 'Cook for a Cause' at OzHarvest HQ.

With the help of a professional OzHarvest chef, the team of “non-cooks” produced more than 320 restaurant-quality meals that went to feed vulnerable people from Rough Edges, a men's homeless drop in service in Darlinghurst, and Booler Community Centre, a Mission Australia initiative.

Lander & Rogers Corporate Partner, Deanna Constable, said, "We were delighted to be able to support OzHarvest's Cooking for a Cause, and to help turn food that would ordinarily have become landfill into meals for people in need.

"Cooking for a Cause gave us an opportunity to catch up informally with First State Super, a client which shares our firm's approach to community support and engagement, and provided an avenue for our two organisations to work together to provide practical support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community."

OzHarvest is the first perishable food rescue organisation in Australia that collects quality excess food from more than 2,000 commercial outlets and delivers it, direct and free of charge, to more than 900 charities.

Lander & Rogers Pro Bono & Community Support Partner, Joanna Renkin, said, "Cooking for a Cause is the latest in a string of collaborations our firm has undertaken with OzHarvest. Since 2013, members of the firm have volunteered at expos, noodle markets, Easter shows and CEO Cookoffs. Each year we organise a Christmas food drive, and we continue to donate all of our unwanted food from our offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

"Connecting and empowering people and communities and building social inclusion are key objectives of our firm's pro bono practice. By supporting terrific organisations like OzHarvest, we can help to build healthier and more just and inclusive communities which has positive benefits for both individuals and for Australia as a whole.
