Julian is a property specialist who advises on all forms of commercial and government real estate transactions and general advisory. These include portfolio management, sales, acquisitions, developments, retirement living, joint ventures and leasing. He has been involved in the sale, acquisition and development of major commercial and retail interests for landowners; and major leasing ventures for corporate tenants. Julian's expertise has been acknowledged in the Legal 500 2016 edition in the Real Estate category.
Julian has experience with sophisticated and unusual real estate transactions, including mixed use developments, air-bridge leasing and sales, wind farms and sport and entertainment venue developments. Julian also acts for retirement living operators in relation to their acquisition and development of retirement living facilities. His property owner, developer and occupier clients include Stockland Group, Investa Property Group, Coles, Ernst & Young, Anglican Community Services, David Jones, NextGen Clubs, Mission Australia and Kaplan International.
Julian acts for both Commonwealth and State Governments. Departments and agencies he has worked with include Department of Defence, Transport for NSW, Barangaroo Delivery Authority, Roads & Maritime Services NSW, Service NSW and Property NSW. Julian provides advice to his government clients which meet regulatory and policy requirements, while ensuring that solutions are both pragmatic and commercially sound.
Julian's areas of expertise include:
- vendor and purchaser property due diligence, including sales and acquisitions;
- commercial and retail real estate developments and joint ventures;
- office, industrial and retail leasing;
- retirement living;
- tender and special project documents;
- portfolio management and strategic real estate advisory; and
- Government, both Commonwealth and State.
Julian was admitted to practice in 1993 and joined Lander & Rogers in 2013.
