Pat Hawkins

Pat is the Practice Group Leader of our Compensation Law group. He has recognised expertise in the area of serious injury and common law litigation and enjoys a great working relationship with all stakeholders in the litigation process.

Experience

Pat practises in accident compensation, employers' liability and common law, representing the Victorian WorkCover Authority, insurers, self-insurers and employers. He has extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution in the Magistrates, County and Supreme Courts.

His areas of expertise include serious injury and common law litigation under the Accident Compensation Act and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act.

As a respected senior practitioner and litigator, Pat is actively involved in project work, circuit, and strategic working groups. He holds trusted relationships with all stakeholders in the personal injury jurisdiction.

Pat also has a wealth of experience working with self-insurer clients. His ability to communicate effectively and impactfully enables him to deliver a strong early judgement. As a result, Pat is able to produce timely and successful outcomes for his clients.

In addition to Pat's extensive experience in compensation law, he also enjoys partnering with clients to develop technological solutions for efficient practice.

Since 2018, Pat has served as Chair of Partners at Lander & Rogers. Pat has a keen interest in teams and their dynamics – both professional and sporting (as a senior and junior AFL coach).

Pat has been recognised in Best Lawyers in Australia for his expertise in Personal Injury Litigation.
