Our Family & Relationship Law practice now has 19 accredited family law specialists. Significantly, the Family & Relationship Law Group, which has offices in both Melbourne and Sydney, has a spread of Accredited Specialists in both states, who work as part of our national and international offering.
What is the accreditation process?
To become an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, a lawyer must have a minimum of five years of experience as a practising lawyer, with a focus on the practice of Family Law. The process involves a rigorous assessment of the lawyer’s written work, a “mock file” involving complex legal issues, an assessment of the lawyer’s client interviewing skills, and an extensive exam covering all areas of family law. All applicants must also submit references from other senior practitioners (outside of the individual lawyer's firm) to support their application.
The accreditation process is regulated by the legal professional bodies in the relevant states, and incorporates recognition by peers and testing by experienced legal practitioners, specifically chosen by each professional body, to approve the accreditation of each candidate.

The Accredited Specialists recognised in the team continue to reinforce the pre-eminent standing of the Family & Relationship Law Group at Lander & Rogers, and its recognition both nationally and internationally.
