Nicola joined Lander & Rogers in January 2010. Prior to this she worked as a law clerk and firm administrator for a boutique employment law firm acting for mid to large state and national employers. Her move to personal injury law in 2008 was a natural progression and suited her strong interest in litigation.
During her time with Lander & Rogers, Nicola has developed and honed her legal skills by acting in a wide range of personal injuries matters including statutory benefits, serious injury and common law. She provides comprehensive legal opinions and strategies to the numerous stakeholders involved in the defence of WorkCover claims.
Nicola has a particular focus on providing statutory benefits advice and formulating strategies for global resolutions for self-insurer organisations including those in the retail and automotive industries. Her background in employment and industrial relations law assists her in understanding a wide range of issues and helps her to provide pragmatic and commercially strategic advice for her self-insurer clients.
Nicola's areas of expertise include:
- providing advice in relation to serious injury claims, damages and statutory benefits;
- running Magistrates' and County Court proceedings in relation to statutory benefits;
- running County Court proceedings in relation to serious injury claims; and
- running County and Supreme Court proceedings in relation to WorkCover.
