We always approach matters in a strategic, pragmatic and collaborative manner, as our team understands the importance of managing reputational risk for our clients.
Our enviable reputation in the market has led to our team being the most recognised panel firm in the history of the WorkSafe Victoria Awards, having won three legal practitioner scholarship awards, three consecutive innovation awards and an award for outstanding legal and practice management support.
We take a sensible approach to litigation which is best exemplified by the comments of Judge Bowman, County Court of Victoria (February 2015):
“Lander & Rogers is a firm which has consistently displayed an extremely high level of courtesy, cooperation and competence… Some cases have had to be fought and they have been fought thoroughly but expeditiously… Rarely, if ever, have I asked myself about a Landers’ case ‘why on earth hasn’t this case settled?’ In other words, Lander & Rogers fought the right cases…”.

One of our clients had the following to say about our self-insurer practice:
"From the beginning of our partnership, I would like to commend the professional and expert Partner, Diane Sahely, and Senior Associate, Nicola Mooney, for the outstanding work that they have provided to me (personally) and to the organisation. Diane and Nicola provide a wealth of knowledge on the subject matter and no case is ever too hard to overcome. My dealings with both have been nothing but friendly, courteous and extremely professional in every sense. I congratulate Lander & Rogers for having quality assets in both Diane and Nicola, and I look forward to further collaboration with Lander & Rogers in the near future."
Dust diseases and asbestos
Dust-related diseases are debilitating conditions which present their own unique challenges. Most claims are related to asbestos exposure or in more recent times, silica exposure. Often the conditions are terminal and as a result the litigation fro workers compensation is subject to an abbreviated procedural timetable and speedy hearing. These types of claims require an experienced team, familiar with the medical, investigative and legal issues that arise. We are able to achieve an appropriate outcome within a shortened timeframe whilst managing the reputational risks which invariably accompanies these sensitive claims.
Our compensation team has more than 25 years' experience in dust diseases and toxic tort claims, regularly acting for compensation insurers and self-insurers under the different legislative regimes which govern the claims, as well as State and semi-government authorities. Our team are regularly acknowledged by industry peers as leaders in this area.
