Aras is workplace relations and safety lawyer, with a particular focus on industrial relations. He completed the graduate program at Lander & Rogers and has been practising in the Workplace Relations & Safety group since 2017.
Experience
Prior to joining Lander & Rogers Aras worked in the government sector, at a small commercial legal practice and volunteered in an employment law legal centre.
Aras assists a broad range of clients in litigated matters. He also plays an active role in mentoring junior lawyers.
Aras' expertise covers all areas of workplace relations and safety law, including:
- modern awards and enterprise bargaining agreements
- industrial disputes, including related to protected industrial action
- unfair dismissal and general protections
- class actions
- contracts and post-employment restraints of trade
- bullying, harassment, victimisation and anti-discrimination
- workplace investigations
- occupational health and safety
- general employment law advice and litigation, including performance management and redundancies.
Aras is also heavily involved in the firm's pro bono work, previously holding a role as one of the firm's pro bono referral coordinators.

Aras' career highlights include:
- assisting with the conduct of one of Australia's first employment law class actions
- undertaking multiple secondments at an emergency services organisation, major retailer and large local government body
- providing end-to-end assistance with the enterprise agreement process, including contested approvals
- conducting the advocacy in Fair Work Commission and VCAT hearings
- assisting to successfully defend a number of employment claims and industrial disputes in various courts and tribunals
- conducting the advocacy in conciliations and directions hearings before the courts, the Fair Work Commission, VEOHRC and VCAT.
