Katie is a lawyer in the Sydney office of Lander & Rogers' family and relationship law team. She was admitted to practice in 2023 after completing the firm's graduate program, and has been practising exclusively in family law since the beginning of 2024.

Katie enjoys working collaboratively with her clients as they navigate the family law system. She ensures her clients are listened to and understood, and tailors her advice to meet their needs and priorities. Katie is passionate about reaching the best possible resolution as expeditiously and inexpensively as possible for her clients.

Katie has an interest in pro bono work and has experience volunteering at Refugee Legal. Her involvement in volunteer legal work has developed her capacity to handle sensitive issues in a professional manner.

Katie is experienced in all aspects of family law, including property matters, parenting disputes, child support, family violence, and asset protection. She has a particular interest in children's matters and matters that cross international jurisdictions, and co-authored the Australian chapter of Chambers & Partners' 2024 Global Child Relocation Guide.

  • complex and straightforward de facto and matrimonial property matters
  • parenting matters including those involving domestic violence and risk issues
  • binding financial agreements for the purposes of asset protection, including agreements entered into prior to, during and after a relationship
  • spousal maintenance matters
  • advising on, and responding to, applications for family violence orders
  • divorce applications.

Career highlights

Katie's career highlights include:

  • co-authoring the Australian chapter of Chambers & Partners' 2024 Global Child Relocation Guide
  • successfully opposing an application to stay Australian proceedings, with the court finding Australia was the appropriate forum to hear the family law matter. This matter involved serious risk issues arising from the other parent's attempts to abduct the child from Australia
  • advocating and negotiating on behalf of clients through alternative dispute resolution, and successfully reaching settlement without need for further litigation
  • acting in complex parenting matters in which parents have experienced family violence and matters involving drug and alcohol abuse.
