Stefan is a Senior Associate in our Family & Relationship Law team. He has practised exclusively in family and relationship law since his admission to legal practice in 2017.

Prior to joining Lander & Rogers, Stefan practised in a commercial and family law firm. He has been involved in a wide range of complex parenting and property settlement matters and has a thorough understanding of the interplay between family law and related jurisdictions. This informs Stefan’s approach to providing strategic advice to resolve family law disputes effectively and efficiently.

He is proficient in Greek.

Expertise

Stefan is experienced in all aspects of financial disputes within both defended litigation and alternative dispute resolution forums. This includes disputes involving:

  • property settlement matters between married and de facto couples, including third party claims
  • spousal maintenance matters
  • allegations of elder abuse within the context of family separation
  • proceedings involving the appointment of litigation guardians, and drafting complex court documents, Financial Agreements, and Child Support Agreements.

Stefan has extensive experience in family law litigation with a particular interest in high-conflict parenting matters. This includes disputes involving:

  • allegations of family violence and child abuse, including allegations of sexual abuse
  • disputes regarding religious and educational decisions
  • recovery and relocation proceedings
  • special medical procedures
  • International family law matters.

Career highlights

Stefan's career highlights include:

  • acting in international parenting matters involving cross-jurisdictional disputes. This includes both countries that are and are not signatories to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction
  • advocating for victims of elder abuse in the context of family separation and financial settlements
  • acting in proceedings involving special medical procedures including gender dysphoria applications.
