We are extremely proud to be named the winner at the 2019 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards for Wellness Initiative of the Year!
This is the second wellbeing award that the firm has picked up this year, winning the award for Excellence in Employee Health & Wellbeing at the Australasian Law Awards in May 2019.
Lander & Rogers has a long-term commitment to the wellbeing of its people and is focused on enabling them to bring their best selves to work, both personally and professionally. With alarming figures for mental health across Australia and in the legal industry, it was important for us to create a wellbeing program that would have an impact.
Since 2018, our firm has focused on resilience — a crucial skill for coping with life's inevitable obstacles — and partnered with The Resilience Project to launch a program that would support our people.
The holistic program has included inspiring presentations, a bespoke digital series, a new Wellness Portal, access to resilience journals, and regular engaging communications.
The impact of the program within our firm has been outstanding. The Resilience Project founder, Hugh van Cuylenburg, has now presented five sessions with our firm and our wider community, sharing the powerful resilience principles with family, friends, clients, and community partners of Lander & Rogers — we felt that it was important to share the lessons with all those around us as we know that this will have the strongest impact for everyone.
We are incredibly proud of the recognition that we have received for the program and the important commitment that we have made to our people and our wider community. We are very grateful to have The Resilience Project as our partner and truly appreciate their contribution to this success.
The Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards recognise the outstanding work done by leading firms, in-house legal teams, those at the Bar, and others in the legal profession, over the past 12 months.
The Wellness Initiative of the Year was judged on the quality and uniqueness of the firm's employee health and wellbeing initiatives during the last year. The firm was also named a finalist for Innovator of the Year, Pro Bono Program of the Year, and Legal Support Professional of the Year for our own Gemma Berkhout.
