Lander & Rogers' lawyers Simon Merritt and Elly Blizzard have been recognised amongst Australia's top legal talent in the Lawyers Weekly 30 under 30 Awards held in Sydney last Friday.
Simon, a Senior Associate in our Corporate group, won the Sports and Entertainment category. Simon is a specialist sports lawyer, practicing in the sport, leisure and not-for-profit sectors. Simon acts for a range of sports clients including professional clubs and leagues, racing clubs, and national and state sports organisations.
Elly, a Melbourne based lawyer in our General Insurance team, won the Health category. Elly practices in commercial insurance litigation, with a particular emphasis on medical indemnity, professional indemnity and life insurance. Prior to her legal career, Elly was a Registered Nurse (Division 1) at a private hospital in metropolitan Melbourne where she gained experience in post-operative orthopedic, gastrointestinal and pediatric care.
Simon and Elly were among 30 winners chosen from 260 finalists, with entrants judged on their work over the past 12 months, their leadership capabilities and contributions to the legal sector.
Now in its seventh year, the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards celebrate lawyers who are making a noteworthy impact on the business of law and Australian community at large.
