- YBF Group appoints liquidator
- Lander & Rogers optimistic about the future of LawTech Hub
Leading contemporary law firm Lander & Rogers confirmed this morning it was optimistic about the future of its innovative LawTech Hub following news that program partner, tech coworking and corporate innovation hub YBF Group, had gone into liquidation.
Lander & Rogers chief executive partner Genevieve Collins acknowledged the challenges faced by many businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating "we are very sympathetic to our colleagues and friends at YBF and appreciate the difficulty many businesses continue to face".
According to Ms Collins, Lander & Rogers will continue to deliver the remaining program to current residents. "Since COVID, the program has been run largely virtually. We are committed to working with residents to assist them in building their offerings, leveraging the internal expertise of our innovation and legal teams to provide guidance and support until the current program concludes later this month."
Ms Collins is optimistic about the future direction for the LawTech Hub in 2022 and reaffirms the firm's commitment to continuing this collaboration between law tech innovators and legal professionals.
The national law firm leader believes there is growing demand for digitisation of services and service delivery improvements within law firms. "We've worked with some exceptional startups and scaleups in the LawTech Hub in the last two years; it is our intention to continue this work, responding in real time to the evolving needs of our clients' and the legal industry more broadly."
Ms Collins noted the firm is well underway with its planning for the LawTech Hub in 2022. "We have exciting plans to reinvigorate the program following our own learnings during the last two years. Our new model is likely to remain virtual, removing barriers to participation from different locations. COVID has clearly demonstrated that it is not the physical space that's important, but connection between participants and supporters," said Ms Collins.
