Elyse has extensive experience across a broad range of commercial disputes. Early in her career, she deliberately sought diverse exposure across insurance lines, gaining experience in construction, financial lines, directors & officers liability, first-party property claims, and large-scale securities and shareholder class actions.
She advises both local and international insurers on complex indemnity and liability issues, with a strong focus on the construction and engineering sectors. Elyse regularly provides advice to a range of professionals, including architects, certifiers, and builders.
Elyse also spent time working in London, where she focused on construction professional liability and disputes, and gained valuable experience in UK construction adjudications.

- advising a major design and construct contractor and its insurers in relation to slab defects at a mixed-use residential and commercial development, including a subrogated recovery for rectification and associated costs.
- acting for an architect and its insurer in a multi-million dollar dispute involving waterproofing failures and non-compliant aluminium composite cladding.
- defending construction defect claims concerning waterproofing, façade systems, and other structural and design issues.
- advising insurers and insureds in a dispute involving allegations of nuisance and other complaints by local residents regarding the operation of a large onshore wind farm.
